A little time away!

A few times a year Tony meets with some other Campus Outreach directors that are also close college friends. They meet for a time of fellowship, prayer, encouragement, and overall evaluation of their regions, personal and family life. One time out of the year the wives get to tag along. Thanks to my mother-in-law and Aunt in-law I got to spend the weekend with Tony and these special friends. Two of the high-lights were getting to spend some time with Curtis Tanner(one of the men who helped get Campus Outreach started), and getting to see Terri Perkins who was the Staff girl at Georgia College where I attended school. She was one of the people that God used in my life to help me understand the truths of the bible and how they applied to my life. I was so challenged by the lives of the men and women I was around and reminded that God is so faithful even when we are so faithless at times. That everyone has struggles no matter how "Godly" we may perceive them. One of my take away thoughts is my thought life. To take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. I so often have negative thoughts (pity parties) about being the worlds worst parent or not getting to do this or that or why is God doing this or that anyway I've learned it only leads to bitterness, fear, anger and robs me of the joy God has for me if I would just trust Him and His word. Tony is so good for me in this Area-- He is my example of walking by faith and trusting God even in the midst of hard circumstances
