All week God has been laying on my heart Isa. 26:3-4 then I was reading in a book yesterday the verse and a Hymn that Frances Havergal wrote. It ministered to me tremendously in the midst of very hard circumstances(close friends of our family losing their 4 year old daughter to viral meningitus), not getting to go to the funeral or be there to comfort them because my own children were sick, transitions in our lives and ministry, and just the day in and day out struggles with my own sin and lack of confidence in myself really ultimately in God. Yet in the middle of it all God is in control and he is Good. So my prayer is this Quoted out of the bible and the book A Woman that Feareth the Lord by Emalyn Spencer:
"Thou wilt Keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: For in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength" (Isaiah 26:3-4)
Frances Havergal has so beautifully expressed the truth of this passage in a Hymn:
Like a river glorious is God's perfect peace,
over all victorious in its bright increase;
Perfect yet it floweth, fuller everyday,
Perfect yet it groweth, deeper all the way.
Every joy and trial falleth from above,
Traced upon our dial by the Sun of love.
We may trust Him fully, all for us to do;
They who trust Him wholly, find Him wholly true.
Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest;
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.
To all who are going through their own trials this is my prayer for you as well
